Breast Cancer Awareness Mug Rug

A friend of mine recently celebrated 5 years of being cancer free! Even though I don't see her often, she is always in my thoughts. I created this mug rug with her in mind. So many of us have been touched by the "C" word. I wanted to create something whimsical and uplifting to show my moral support to all those women and their families who so bravely battle breast cancer everyday.

The pink ribbon is an optimistic symbol that honors those who have been touch by breast cancer. Creating this mini quilt for someone in your life is a lovely way to show your support for them and will act as a little reminder that you are thinking of them always.

This pattern includes step by step instructions, list of materials needed, full size placement guide and templates with easy to follow cutting and sewing instructions on how to create applique, mitered corners and binding too. If you're not comfortable with creating mitered corners and binding yet, also included is an easy No binding method, Perfect for Beginners.

Once you've made your mug rug, use your creativity to make lots of different projects with the templates included in the pattern. Apply applique technique to ready made towels, totes, t-shirts, jeans, backpacks, and so much more. Templates may be resized to fit any project. The options are limitless.

All You Need Is...

Valentine's Day is only a month away.  I've been busy working on some mini quilts to display and use around the house and wanted to share them with you.

Hearts and Stitches...

All You Need Is...

These were fun and quick projects to create and even though they are functional, I love displaying them around the house as  "art".

I'm working on one more this week.  Started to audition fabric for it this morning.

So I suppose I should get back to crafting work!  :)

Thanks for stopping by ♥

Big Kiss Big Hug

I am in love with creating these mini quilts.  So many thoughts and ideas for new ones keep running through my head that I can't sleep. It's silly, right?  But I can't help it.  I'm already thinking about Valentine's Day.  I have a few designs in the making and wanted to share the one I finished today!  I'm calling it Big Kiss Bug Hug.  And especially in times like these, we all could use one.

I've listed this pattern in my Craftsy Store.  I hope you'll consider following my Craftsy page. Craftsy.com is a  great site to find inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mug Rug Addiction

Sometimes tackling a large project can be overwhelming.  Trust me!  I've started many projects only to store them away to finish at a later date.  Sadly, that date hasn't come for most of them.

I'm happy to say that lately I've completed SEVERAL mini projects that I'm completely in love with.  Probably, because I'm able to finish them in a reasonable amount of time and the results are adorable.

It all started with this little fella...

I started The Grinch before Thanksgiving thinking it would take me until Christmas to finish it.  But, much to my surprise, I finished it rather quickly and loved it so much I had to make one for Thanksgiving.
And then I was hooked.

I can't tell you how excited I was to read that The Crafty Gemini was holding a Mug Rug Swap.  I had to enter not once but twice! These are the two I swapped.

I hope they will enjoy them!

The most recent one I completed, may be my favorite.  I'm calling it  Little Black Dress.

Don't you love it?  I'm going to make this one again in fabrics to match my sewing area.  Not sure if I want to use it to place my coffee cup on or display it on one of these photo holders.  But I do know I'll be making a lot more! I'm totally addicted.  I have lots of ideas for new mug rugs for up coming holidays and events and can't wait to make them.

I hope you'll try one too.  But be warned... they're completely addictive!
